HISTORY. The Condor Legion fought in Spain, 1936-1939, did not have any designated awards during the conflict. Upon their return to Germany after the victory by the forces guided by General Franco, the Condor Legion or Spanish Wound Badge was established on May 22, 1939.

Constructed of stamped blackened tombac. The reverse has a barrel hinge with a vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked. Most of the blacking is gone.
