HISTORY. Cigarette Cards & Books were promotional items extensively used by cigarette manufacturers in Germany for several decades spanning the turbulent times following WW1 through the ascension of the NSDAP. The cards were small illustrated water colors on card stock, included in every pack of cigarettes. Books were available to collect the cards.
This grouping of Cigarette Cards is different than the others posted on this site. These are prints of architectural photographs of major German cities (the city is marked on the back of each card).
