HISTORY. Heinrich Hoffmann was Adolf Hitler's official photographer, and a Nazi politician and publisher, who was a member of Hitler's intimate circle. Hoffmann's photographs were a significant part of Hitler's propaganda campaign.

In March 1938, Germany annexed Austria. The “Anschluss”, German for “Union” was part of Hitler’s plan for Germany domination of Europe, but particularly important to Hitler since Austria was his birth place.
