WW2 was a little over a year from it's start for America. Allied troops were in North Africa fighting Rommel and in the Pacific we had just won the Guadalcanal Campaign. However, on the home front the one thing that was consistent was the constant Goodbyes as American shipped out to training or overseas. Fascinating reading.
