HISTORY. The RLB (Reichs Luftschutz Bund) was the National Air Raid Protection, which was tasked with all aspects of civil air raid defence. The SHD (Security and Assistance Service), was primary functions being decontamination, fire fighting, rescue and repair and assisting civilian personnel and securing buildings following an air raid. LSW (Air Raid Warning Service), was responsible for observation and analysis, of all aircraft in German skies, and the eventual sounding of air raid warning alarms. All of these organizations wore the Luftschutz insignia.

Constructed by machine embroidered Luftschutz wings with white rayon thread, with a dark blue boarder on a blue gray base. Small breaks in the base on the lower right hand side. Near MINT.
