HISTORY. The 55th Fighter Group (USAAF) flew P-38 on long range bomber escort, air-to-air interdiction and ground attack during WW2. Flying out of the England, they participated in every major Allied operation of the war. Awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation in 1944.

Lt. Leinweber was from Houston, TX. He flew 57 combat missions and was credited with one kill. On the reverse is a notation of a trade or sale of a Lobster tail spiked helmet. Included are a couple of stories Jerry had typed out. Also, a couple of another signed photograph with Jerry and his ground crew and part of a Houston, TX new paper story.
