Walter Kappe helped organize Operation Pastorius. A Nazi plan to train eight men in the art of sabotage and land them on a east coast beach (Long Island & Jacksonville) in June 1942. One of the spies betrayed the group and all the spies were rounded up. Kappe was suppose to slip back into the US and direct operations.
