The hilt is exceptional with nicely engraved brass and a perfect celluloid covered wooden grip with triple brass wire. The center langet has a unique silvered closed winged eagle which clutches a wreathed swastika, which appears to be a separate attached piece. The scabbard has it’s original shape with no dents and although there are numerous scratch to the original paint, very little of the metal shows through. It appears there has been a period touch up on the bottom 6” of the scabbard. The blade is superb with only a few scratches, but overall a bright high quality blade. The reverse racisso shows the maker logo for Robert Klaas. Overall an Excellent++.
