A round silvered bronze medal, the obverse center presents the German national eagle bearing a swastika over the chest, the reverse center presents the inscription FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUING FROM DANGER), surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, measuring 24.31 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension with a missing ribbon. Majority of the silvering is missing.
