HISTORY. The Winterhilfswerk or Winter Help Work (WHW) was a winter relief charity program started in 1931 in response to the depression. In 1933 Hitler made it an official Nazi program. The pins, badges and small play toys were handed out to those who donated and proudly wore letting everyone know they supported the Winter Relief Program that year.

Reverse has original vertical pinback, marked RZM and maker mark, "M9/29" for Rud Wachtler & Lange, Mittweida. Excellent Condition. The round medal pin in 1937/38 relief program. The square wooden items show locations in Germany.
