Deutsche Kämpfen in Spanien (Germans fighting in Spain) is a Third Reich book published for the Legion Condor by Wilhelm Limpert Verlag of Berlin in 1939. It is a glowing report about German participation in Francisco Franco’s Spanish Civil War between 1936 and 1939, often referred to as the Wehrmacht trial for World War II. The Legion Condor, a unit of the Luftwaffe of Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Göring, was sent to Spain for special duty with General Francisco Franco's Nationalist forces in the Spanish Civil War on the condition that it stay under German command. World War I veteran and Luftwaffe General Hugo Sperrle was the commander of the Condor Legion. The cover design of a Legion Condor pilot and the many fine military illustrations in the text, are by famous German artist and designer Paul Casberg. Many will recognize his name as he designed countless well-known Nazi daggers, swords, belt buckles, uniforms, badges, award plaques, etc.
