Germany. SS Prototype Dagger by Muller

Germany. SS Prototype Dagger by Muller

$24,500.00

HISTORY. In 1939, Paul Muller was directed to produced a SS prototype daggers at his Dachau Concentration Camp School for Damascus Blades. However, by the time he got the prototypes to
Himmler, WW2 had begun and production of a new dagger was rejected. The dagger he produced is found on page 53 of James P. Atwood’s book, “The Daggers and Edged Weapons of Hitler’s Germany” and in LTC (Ret.) Thomas M. Johnson’s book, “German Daggers of World War II, Volume V, page 179”.

The grip is black Moroccan leather and wrapped with double twisted aluminum wire. The blade is Damascus steel and it is acid etched. On the reverse racisso is engraved, “Ecth Damast (meaning Damascus) Muller”, the reverse tang is engraved “HT ZENER” and “P G M” for Paul Muller. The obverse tang is engraved “1” as in #1 of 5 daggers produced (this is my assumption, since there is no documented evidence on this point). The scabbard is leather wrapped with nickel mounts. Unbelievable piece of history.
