This Army Dove Head Sword is in very nice condition throughout. It has a brass hilt which retains about 95% of the original gilded finish. The hilt is styled with engraved oak leaves and acorns which cover the pommel, backstrap, grip tabs, and "P" guard. The cross guard features a raised Wehrmacht eagle and swastika. The reverse langet has been left plain to accept an engraved personalization. The grip is carved wood covered in black celluloid. This celluloid remains in perfect condition, wrapped with twisted brass wires; the center strand is a thicker gage to provide some visual interest. Attached to thehilt is an officer's portepee which is in excellent condition. The scabbard is excellent condition, with only the tip (normal) showing wear. The blade is in excellent condition, with highest quality nickel plating. Maker Mark - Puma, Solingen. A very nice Army Sword.
