The hilt is exceptional with nicely engraved brass and a perfect celluloid covered wooden grip with triple brass wire. The center languet has a opened winged eagle which clutches a wreathed swastika. The scabbard has it’s original shape with no dents and although there are numerous scratch to the original paint, very little of the metal shows. The blade is excellent with only a few age spots near the tip and scratches, but overall a bright high quality blade. The reverse racisso shows the maker logo for E. & F. Horster. Overall an Excellent++.
