This early HJ knife shows a lot of interesting characteristics. The hilt has almost all of its original nickle plating, but the top was used for as a hammer (maybe to pound in tent stakes?). The grip plates remain in good condition, with a perfect enamel insignia and aluminum rivets. The early blade is highlighted with the HJ Motto with the makers mark of Anton Winger on the reverse. It has been lightly sharped, shows age and usage marks. The scabbard is in excellent condition with no dents, but does seem to have been repainted. The black leather belt loop is sound, as is the retaining strap. Overall a Excellent+ knife.
