Germany. Early 1900s Shooting Badge by Gustav Deschler

Germany. Early 1900s Shooting Badge by Gustav Deschler

$85.00

A little out of our wheelhouse, but the more I looked at and researched this badge the more interesting it became. The construction is unique with a very soft wool cloth sandwiched between the obverse and reverse. The obverse is feinzink and inscribed “Schutzen Gesellschaft” (Protect Society) “Geiselhöring (Germany) 1590 (origination of the club)” with targets and crossed rifles completing the face. The reverse has a vertical pin and is maker marked “Gustav Deschler, vereinsz. fabrik.(association factory), Munchen”.
